Vaccination Information
National Childhood Immunization Program (Routine Vaccinations – Free of Charge)
This program provides financial support for 18 types of nationally recommended vaccines to prevent infectious diseases targeted by the national immunization schedule. Through this program, children can receive necessary vaccinations at nearby designated medical institutions for no cost.

- When visiting for vaccination, you must bring your child’s health insurance card (or a copy of the resident registration certificate showing the child’s registration number) and the vaccination record book.
Yongsan-gu fully covers the vaccination costs for all national mandatory immunizations for children under 12 years of age.
※ Vaccination Facilities: Designated medical institutions (Vaccinations received at non-designated institutions are not eligible for cost support.)

Reminders for before and after receiving a vaccination
Reminders before a vaccination
- We recommend that the child be accompanied by a parent who is well-aware of the child’s health condition.
- Take the child’s temperature at home and bring the Vaccination Card.
- For infants or young children, wash them the day before the vaccination and put on clean clothes.
- Do not bring a child who will not get vaccinated.
- We recommend getting vaccinated on a weekday morning.
Reminders before a vaccination
- Stay for 20-30 minutes after the vaccination to observe the patient’s condition.
- After returning home, carefully observe the patient’s condition for at least three hours.
- Do not work out on the day of the vaccination, or on the following day.
- Do not shower on the day of the vaccination.
- Keep the vaccine site clean.
- Observe the patient’s condition for at least three days after the vaccination, and seek medical treatment immediately if the patient experiences high fever or convulsion.
- Immediately turn the baby around and coax it to sleep.
General Reasons to Not Receive a Vaccination
- Patient is suffering from an acute fever (However, vaccination is possible for light colds without signs of a fever.)
- Patient is suffering from acute or active cardiovascular disease or kidney disease
- Patient has a history of allergy to eggs or chicken meat
- Patient has shown symptoms of convulsion during the one year prior to vaccination
- Vaccination is possible at least two months after contracting measles, mumps or chickenpox
- Vaccination is possible at least one month after measles, mumps or chickenpox vaccination
- Patient is receiving immunosuppression therapy (steroid and radiotherapy)
- Patient has received gamma globulin or serotherapy or a blood transfusion within the last three months
