Any birth that occurs in South Korea must be officially registered at the Seoul Immigration Office within 30 days of the birth. Documents required for registration include the child’s Birth Certificate, issued by the hospital, and the child’s passport, issued after the child’s birth has been registered at the consulate of the parents’ native country. An Alien Registration Card for the child may be obtained by visiting the Seoul Immigration Office.
